Hey! I’m Jemma. I thought it may be a good idea to post little about who I am, so that you feel little more connected.
I have been a UK based wedding hair and makeup artist for over 17 years, and I still absolutely love what I do. I believe bridal hair and makeup should feel calm, personal, and completely you – not rushed, not overdone, and definitely not intimidating.
Alittle more about me
I’m 41, a mum to two brilliant sons (19 and 15), and I share my life with a very cute Manchester Terrier called Jet, who I’m completely obsessed with.
Family means a lot to me – we’re a small but close-knit bunch, and that sense of warmth and reassurance that I have grown up with naturally carries into my work with brides. According to my reviews, I’m pretty easy to get along with too, which helps on a wedding morning!
My work (and why I love it)
I’ve spent the last 17 years helping brides feel confident, relaxed and excited as they get ready for one of the biggest days of their lives. Whether you want soft and natural or something a little more glam, I take the time to really listen and tailor each look to you.
Alongside weddings, I also work closely with a photographer creating empowerment, body positivity and boudoir shoots – something I’m incredibly passionate about. Helping women see themselves in a new light is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. During the summer months, you’ll also find me working on weekday proms, as well as offering hair and makeup for special occasions and events. I’m happy to take hair-only or makeup-only bookings too.
Out in the wild
When I’m not working, I’m usually:
• At the gym lifting heavier weights than people expect
• Listening to country music… or elder emo and metal / rock on gym days
• Admiring tattoos (and adding to my own collection)
• Doing DIY projects
• Or heading out for a bottomless brunch that somehow turns into a night out
I’m equal parts calm and creative, with just the right amount of energy – which, honestly, works perfectly for wedding mornings.
